5.0 out of 5 stars Great upgrade from my Pixel 3XL
Reviewed in the United States ???? on January 10, 2023
Size: 128GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: ObsidianVerified Purchase
I have only truly loved one cell phone. That was my Samsung Galaxy S4. My Galaxy S1 was so cheap it didn't even have a flashlight. My S7 annoyed my so much I literally threw it out the window. I upgraded to the Pixel 3XL.

That was a (mostly) good phone. From day 1, the internal GPS was messed up so it never told my Nest thermostat I was home, and the thermostat would always change to away mode while I was still in the house. Using store apps was also difficult as it would think I wasn't in Walmart, or Home Depot, and not allow me to search for items in the stores.

C'est la vie, I lived with it for 4 years, until it's quirks and foibles had me to the point where I smacked it with my fist and cracked the screen. So much for Gorilla Glass. No bother, I scored the 7 Pro on sale.

The 7 Pro keeps some great and useful features from the 3Xl, such as double tap the screen when it's off to bring up the lock screen. Love that. I'm a troglodyte and basically use my phone to talk, text, browse, and take the (very) occasional picture. I could easily get away with a midrange phone, but I like big screens, and fast processors. The sale price was a good deal, so I bought this.

Features I love that were not on my 3XL; double tap the back to perform a preset command. You can use it to take a screenshot or pause the media you're playing, etc. Very handy! The lock screen gives the option to have the clock in one grid, as opposed to the 3XL, once it was updated to Android 10, wherein the clock was split into top and bottom for hours and minutes.

The phone seems a good deal faster than the 3XL. The upgrade to Gorilla Glass Victus from GG5 should hopefully help prevent damage. I don't know whether it's the GGV, or the liquid glass I had applied to the screen for protection, but the glass attracts a lot of dust! I must clean it regularly. I also don't really care for the curved glass on the screen edges. I'm not really sure what the point of that is, but it can make reading text difficult, and it can cut off letters on the edges.

It is a big phone, which is what I wanted, but it will be difficult to perform one-handed operations unless you have big hands like myself. Even then, it can be a chore. The one thing I don't like, is the sensitivity of the screen. Holding it one-handed, I use my thumb to scroll up and down. This will easily cause the screen to think you're long-pressing, and highlight the text to allow you to copy/paste/google search, etc. It's the single most annoying quirk I've discovered.

I've tried adjusting the screen sensitivity level to no avail. My 3XL never did this, and the screen size is virtually identical to the 7 Pro. The only fix, is to adjust how I hold the phone so that my thumb is more perpendicular to the screen and not as much of my thumb is touching. This means that it's not as secure in my palm so I have to take great care not to drop it.

Overall, I like this phone. Samsung has a lot going for it, but I'm happy with my purchase. It's also very easy to use and set up. While I'm certainly not a noob, I'm not as tech savvy as I could be. Yet, I had the phone up and running within an hour or so with all my configurations locked in, and adjusted. And no GPS issues either!

5.0 out of 5 stars The smartest of the smartphones that you can get your hands on in 2023 so far
Reviewed in the United States ???? on January 2, 2023
Size: 128GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: SnowVerified Purchase
"I don't write many reviews, especially on Amazon, and I was initially skeptical about this phone. However, after using it for 14 days and learning how to make smart changes, I truly love it. I can confidently say that it is the smartest smartphone so far this year for the price you are paying.

You may be wondering what excites me about this phone. First of all, you should expect some bugs, but Google is good at fixing them. There are always new features being introduced, and with new features come new bugs. So, what do I love and dislike about this phone?

One of the things I love is the incredibly accurate dictation through speech, even with my accent. I have used Samsung phones for several years, and while they have a much sharper and darker contrast ratio than other Android phones, their software experience is not as good as Google's. In my opinion, the Pixel 7 Pro is self-learning and adapts to you. It also emphasizes the most important features of a phone - the phone and texting functions - which is something I missed with all the extra features and bloatware on Samsung phones. For example, even after just 10 days of learning how to optimize this phone, I have never been happier with a phone and it is such a joy to take with me everywhere. I have been dictating texts with no errors so far.

The only things I don't like about this phone are the not as sharp screen compared to Samsung, and the Bluetooth quality is not as good. However, if you use adaptive sound, it improves the Bluetooth quality through your headset. Despite these minor issues, the additional features and ongoing support from Google make this phone well worth the price I paid. I did purchase a Samsung Z Fold 4, but now I have to sell it because this phone is so much more intuitive.

When you buy this phone, make sure to spend an hour learning how to use it and making important changes before deciding if it is right for you. If you are looking for a simple phone with amazing functionality at a basic level - just phone and text - this is, in my opinion, the the best choice."

First of all, I bought this phone after my Oneplus 7 Pro was deteriorating after almost 4 years of good use but the messy Android 12 update from them and the battery life breaking down made me set my eyes in this awesome phone, the great camera and the Android Stock experience make the phone stand out from the tough competition and the original design puts the Pixel is so good. The only problem I see is that the box only has the data USB Type C cable and the adapter from regular USB to USB Type C, no phone case and no screen protector while there's many others that include the wall charger, the cable, the phone case and the screen protector. Other than that, is a great purchase and I truly recommend this phone to everyone. It works very smooth with the phone carriers in Mexico since it is an unblocked smartphone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Japanese Variant Caution

This is the 3rd replacement. The first was a Pixel 7, which obviously is not the Pixel 7 Pro. The second was the Pixel 7 Pro. This one started having display issues, display would shimmer the top 1/3 of the screen. Then it would shut off. It was still running, Google Assistant was complaining about unlocking the screen. This 3rd one is not the US variant. It seems to work on the ATT network using a physical SIMM, ATT, states it is incompatible for using an eSimm. None of the item write up states it's a Japanese Variant. Use caution...

Let’s get to one thing out I could find as a con the battery life goes quick. The pros though is bountiful from built in features to simplify your daily life and safety features. Ever been placed on hold have pixel pro handle the hold call while you tend to other matters. Also Google pixel takes your menu based calls and creates a nice text based screen to allow you to select. Safety features such as crash detection and check in features are great too. My main observations of giving this phone 5 stars is that I have and still use iPhone to date and been a galaxy user for over 10 years. The pixel is cleaner over the other mfg it does not need to compete between its native android apps to the other mfg built ins. The phone also bit like a Star Trek universal translator where it can listen and translate into text as will as speak back from English into the translated text. Many useful features to list. Camera is just as good as the current phones on the market without the need of other apps. Editing features are great and really simple to use. Also those who work daily in the google environment this phone is it. Also, with that the pixel can separate your work life from your personal from a simple switch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best phone I've ever used* (*Read review)
Reviewed in the United States ???? on December 31, 2022

To be clear, this is the first "flagship" phone I have ever purchased. For years I have operated (sufficiently) with more affordable phones and have never really regretted it. But running a business I wanted the excellent processing because I use it alot. I also want to be able to take clear, high quality photos of our events. Rather than tote around a separate camera for that, this phone absolutely meets those needs.

I was a Motorola fan prior to getting this because their battery life would easily get me through two days without a charge. The Pixel 7 Pro will not get me through two entire days, but will definitely get me through a portion of the second day until I can get it to a charger.

I would rate the value for money as a 5 star, if there were an included charging block. Having to fork out that additional money took away from that a little bit.

Facial recognition and fingerprint sensor work fine for me (I have read reviews where others had issues). But I have had no issues, even after putting the screen protector film on.

Quick gestures was something I liked about my motorola devices, and was kindof sad to lose those. But the customizable double tap for the Pixel 7Pro does allow me quick access to the flashlight function.

This is also the cleanest version of android I have ever used. Since there is not a bunch of bloatware that I will never use but cant be taken off, I can actually use the storage space as I NEED it to be set up.

About the only things I miss on the phone are a 3.5mm aux jack and the SD card expandable memory option. Those were not deal breakers for me, but about the only thing I miss from my prior phones. That all being said, at this point (about a month into using it) I would absolutely recommend the phone, especially if you can get it on sale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Phone is amazing, but DON'T ORDER FROM AMAZON
Reviewed in the United States ???? on January 6, 2023

This is a great phone!

Everything is super fast. I have always used flagship android devices, and this is the first one in quite some time where there has been noticeably increased speed and performance from my previous phone. The screen is super crisp, and I love the "Night light" mode that reduces blue light automatically after sunset.

The camera is incredible! The zoom allows you to take pictures more clear than 20/20 vision. I can take a picture of a sign that is far enough away that I cannot read it on my own, but the 30x zoom can read it clearly. The stabilization at high zoom is pretty impressive as well. The photo editing features are great also, particularly the unblurring and magic eraser.

My only complaint is the battery - the battery life is ok, I can generally get through a day without charging, but it takes a LONG time to charge. Like 3-4 hours to go from 20% to 100% on a wireless charging pad.

I highly recommend the Pixel 7 Pro, but would discourage ordering it from Amazon. Amazon sent me the wrong color (exterior bag was labeled with correct color, box inside was different color). This was annoying but normally would not be a big deal. However, returning this device has been a nightmare, with incomplete instructions and unresponsive customer service. For some reason they do not allow the normal drop off process, perhaps because of the battery.

The instructions made it seem like UPS was just going to show up randomly and ask for the phone. I have not been contacted by them at all, not sure what to do.

I love Apple. I've have every iPhone. Due to an upsetting experience with my insurance, I had to replace my iPhone out of pocket. I was not going to pay full price for the same phone. I decided to try a less expensive option with the Pixel. I don't think Steve Jobs is looking down angrily at me. I'm so pleased with my phone! Aside from getting adjusted to the different operating systems, the Pixel performs well! I love the camera capabilities including "magic eraser." Often, I forget it's not an Apple. I never thought I'd say this, but I LOVE my Pixel 7 Pro

These phones perform amazingly snappy and responsive, phenomenal camera, can't give enough praise. Don't be misled, I love this phone, and it's fully compatible with cricket and any other at&t based carrier. The problem is that the model this seller has is the international model GFE4J. It could and should work on cricket, but they'll suspend your account if you move your SIM into it. The only pixel 7 pro that cricket will allow is model GE2AE. So, if you're on cricket, and you want this phone, you don't want to buy it here. Seller has been great and responsive, but simply doesn't have the model number that cricket allows.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the Best Android Phone

It seems like everyone gave this phone the "phone of the year" honor. I'm not sure why. I used it for a while and then went back to my S22 Ultra. Granted, each phone has it's issues, but S22 Ultra is works better.

Works better? Yes. The Pixel 7 Pro has too many bugs. The fingerprint reader, although they say it's better, doesn't work half the time. I can't imagine how bad it was before. Want to use Chrome to surf the web? Sometimes it just refuses to load. You have to jump through hoops to get it working. Want to use face unlock for your banking apps, like on an iPhone - too bad. It doesn't really work. Want to use that camera they brag about? It crashes more than a drunk, elderly, American driving in London.

Want the latest updates on your unlocked, non-carrier locked phone? Too bad, there is a good chance that won't happen, if you have certain carriers. I'm not kidding. Somehow your network restricts the updates you can get by MONTHS. My S22 Ultra is more up to date than my Pixel. That's just wrong.

If you ignore the bugs, the raw android is mostly okay. It is annoying that you can't add more than 4 quick apps to your home page. I also wish you could organize your app tray, instead of having a big list. Those are minor things though. The thing that gets me the most is your short cuts. The big bubbles seem awkward at times and having to double swipe to get to the settings shortcut is annoying.

The hardware seems fast enough, but it did take nearly two hours to install a security update. That seems excessive. At least everything was done in the background until the reboot prompted.

This phone weighs less than the S22 Ultra. It's noticeable. If you light a lighter weight phone, this is a better option.

Now for the biggest plus for this phone - the price. I got this phone in brand new condition for under $600. That's a lot less than the S22 Ultra. That brings the value you get to almost that of the S22 Ultra. It's almost good enough to put up with the bugs.

So first off this is a rectangular piece of equipment and most other phones can do what it does. I'm going to talk about a couple of features that make this insanely good and a couple of places where it fails to Samsung's ecosystem.

Let's start with the fail - Samsung wins in the game manager, multi-window, multi-tasking, and unlocking realms. The Pixel is amateurish in its multi-window / multi-app approach in comparison, and the fact that the game center that Google has doesn't have a mute this game option is appalling.

Now onto the win - the voice recognition is amazing... well, quick caveat on that it's amazing after a week or so of ownership. It quite had the dumbs when I first got the phone and learned me. It does offline / on phone translation when it learns you and it's a lot faster and better voice to text experience than I've had on any other phone. It's at least twice as fast and significantly more responsive than it is on my S21 Ultra, which has a faster processor in theory.

Using the phone as a phone is delightful - it doesn't ring for scammers, spammers, etc... that's a setting I had to set... the phone will answer and screen calls on the device giving you a voice-to-text display of what they're saying to try and get you to answer. My phone rings very seldomly now. I love it.

There are a bunch of call options that make the device feel like someone who used a telephone actually had some input...

Unfortunately the monthly updates generally break something. Google's doing a lot of improvements but not a lot of evident testing. When I bought the phone, if I set a new alarm I knew I would wake up and the phone would be nearly dead on the wireless charger. Adaptive charging whether on or off and a new alarm = dead phone on a perfectly good wireless charger. This was mostly fixed, but still an occasional issue.

I mention that one because it was reported in February 2022 on the pixel lines and it still is an occasiona problem in January 2023 with the Dec 2022 update.

Good phone, extremely good as a telephone...

4.0 out of 5 stars Hope you enjoy using a pin and misspelling words, because this is the worst display ever made.
Reviewed in the United States ???? on December 17, 2022
Size: 128GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: ObsidianVerified Purchase
It's Google's flagship phone, the newest, best, pro model. The camera is amazing, hands down incredible, like every pixel has been. The display is brilliant and the high-res mode option is gorgeous.

BUT. Face unlock doesn't have IR, so it is literally unusable in the dark. But that's fine, because it has a fingerprint scanner, right?
WRONG. It has a light under the display that claims it can't read your fingerprint. Ever. Hope you enjoy entering your pin to unlock, because you're going to end up using it 100% of the time - and always after a failed face unlock and then two failed finger unlocks. Even registering your fingerprint is an exercise in frustration - if you follow the onscreen directions (ie, "now use the tip, now use the side"), it will ALWAYS fail halfway through and make you start over. The only way to actually register a print is, get this: MOISTURIZE YOUR FINGER FIRST, and then just mash the same spot over and over - and repeat it four times for the same finger so you can MAYBE get 1/100 unlocks to ever register.

In addition to that, the screen accuracy is just shy of being maddening. Even typing this review resulted in 40% misspelled words I had to correct; it's almost like every screen tap randomly decides to trigger a few mm to either side of where you wanted it. It requires your full attention, and it completely messes with autocorrect too, because it has absolutely no idea what you were even close to typing.

Really hoping this gets fixed with an update. For a phone with such stellar features and hardware, the interface feels like I bought a TracFone from 7-11.

4.0 out of 5 stars What I expected
Reviewed in the United States ???? on January 1, 2023
Size: 256GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: ObsidianVerified Purchase
It is what you would expect of a pixel phone. It fixes most of the niggling problems of the 6.

I never charge it over 85% and after a day at work, it's never under 15%. Reasonable battery life, but I still wish it was a few hours longer.

It's the Pro model, so it is "inconveniently large" like any flagship large model, it's a challenge in a men's front pocket. Ladies, forget about a front pocket it won't fit there. It fits in a shirt pocket, if you don't mind 1/4 to 1/3 of it sticking out. Definitely does not feel secure. I honestly wish phone makers other than the Fruit brand, would make a Pro model for the normal sized phone. I would have paid just as much for that and been happier (even if the battery life was worse)

Google has gone with the under screen finger print reader (I hate those). At least they got it right, and accurate this time. I still miss the on the back reader from my pixel 3 and 5. Those are more accurate and more ergonomic. But Google has to keep up with the flagship gimmicks of all the others, even if they make no sense.

4.0 out of 5 stars Incremental but important update to the Pixel 6 Pro
Reviewed in the United States ???? on October 16, 2022
Size: 128GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: ObsidianVerified Purchase
As much as I love the pure experience that you get from a Pixel device, the Pixel 6 Pro found itself in my sock drawer due to the really awful 5G reception I was getting on Verizon. Where my S22 Ultra would get 300 megabits down (sometimes more) in a C-Band area, the Pixel could barely squeeze out 100 megabits, with similar choking on the upstream.

Well... I'm pleased to say that the updated modem in the Pixel 7 Pro is leaps and bounds better. So much so, that I don't notice any reception differences between it and my S22 Ultra.

As for the rest of the phone, well, if you're coming from a Pixel 6 series, the differences are going to be much more incremental unless macro photography is your must-have (and to that end, it works beautifully, and is one area where the S22 Ultra and prior Pixels simply don't compare).

Build is very, very similar to the 6 Pro. If you hold them side by side, the biggest difference you'll probably notice in the physical details is that the right buttons are shifted up a couple of millimeters. Juuuuust enough that you won't be able to use your 6 Pro case, unless it has a cutout on the side for buttons. The camera visor seems a little more pronounced to me, and the selfie dot seems to blend a bit better, but that could just be the improved display on the 7 Pro. The overall feel is fairly premium, though I think the display has a kind of plastic feel to it. The S22 series feels much more solid and utilitarian, but I'd argue less expensive.

Surprisingly, you can notice the improvement in processor speed in several apps, not to mention just scrolling through settings. Again, using my S22 Ultra as a comparison, I can't say I've noticed a performance hit, even though the single core specs on the Snapdragon processor are better. Overall, I think it would be fair to say that the Pixel 7 Pro does all of the things the Pixel 6 Pro does, but faster and sometimes (like with Magic Eraser) better.

At launch, there have been a lot of incentives on the Pixel 7 series that make upgrading less expensive -- potentially free, and if that's what you're weighing a purchase against, I'd say "go for it". But if you're looking at a difference of hundreds of dollars to go from a 6 to a 7, I'm not sure I'd recommend that unless you were experiencing the same modem issues that so many other owners had.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very similar to my Pixel 3 XL but with a nice zoom
Reviewed in the United States ???? on October 25, 2022

I went from a Pixel 3 XL to the Pixel 7 Pro. Here is my review of the Pro:

1. Adaptive brightness is very slow
2. Phone sometimes lags
3. Maybe a bit faster with some things but basically the same as my Pixel 3 XL
4. Phone sometimes freezes and I have to restart, which had finally been fixed in Android 12
5. Updates take hours but you can be on the phone during them, a win in my view
6. Battery life is better
7. What they don't tell you beforehand, is that the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro only support 64-bit apps; so you might find yourself missing some apps and games and icon packs, etc.
8. Transfer of apps and stuff went very well
9. In some apps, texting has a weird lag; you have to wait for the letters you type to show up, it's very aggravating
10. The screenshot option works better; not the buttons, that option still sucks
11. It charges okay: I went from 19% to 61% in 30 minutes; 85% in one hour
12. The regular camera quality hasn't changed, although Night Sight seems to work poorly, adding a yellow tinge and even splotches of yellow - so Night Sight is much worse than my Pixel 3, see the photos to compare (comparison is between 2 photos taken with the Pixel 7 Pro, one with Night Sight and one without)
13. The zoom camera function is why I opted for the Pro, and it is a lovely thing to have - see the photos of a shot with the normal range, then a shot of the same scene at the maximum 5x range
14. There's an automatic macro setting which is nice, too. Just bring the camera close to the object and it automatically adjusts to the macro setting
15. The size is almost identical to my Pixel 3 XL, just a tiny bit taller and a tiny bit heavier

In all, I like the phone very much. But if not for the zoom, I'd have been happy with the Pixel 7, I think. In fact, I was still happy with my Pixel 3 XL. If it wasn't for Google stopping the security updates, I wouldn't have upgraded; a big plus for the 7 Pro is Google's promise to support security updates for 5 years. There is very little difference between the two phones, apart from the zoom/macro and how bad Night Sight is on the new camera.

I have been a Samsung owner since the S3 and always have their Note flagship. However, I find it very difficult to pay $1000 for a phone. I am just too old school, so I thought I would try the pixel pro 7.

Performance is nearly equal to the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra speed and response. Regarding camera quality, Samsung S22 Ultra hast Google beat by a quarter mile. Samsung will also load more legacy apps than the Pixel 7 Pro. I could not import my contacts, calendar events, and personal notes—a massive downfall for Pixel Pro 7. Battery life is stated to be two days. I suppose if you don't use it, that may be true. I consider myself a casual user. I make 4 to 6 calls, check email hourly, read news articles four times a day, roughly 10 - 15 texts daily, and I get approximately 14 hours of battery. If you are a power user, you'll most likely have it on a charger three times a day or more.

It comes with Android 13, which is full of new features that takes awhile to get used to. Fortunately, Google has provided many prompts to help with your first selection. Word of advice, before making any selection, write down the feature name; if you don't like what you selected, you will spend hours searching for how to undo it. It's help section is good only if you know the exact name of the feature you are looking to change. And there are a bunch of new ones.

Overall, it appears to be a quality-built phone. And if you overlook its camera feature, it is a worthy competitor for the S22 line.

Great phone. No problems or issues with phone itself, apps or files. One thing to note is that this phone will only download and play 64 bit apps. As a lot of apps in the Google Playstore are currently 32 bit apps these are unavailable for download or use on this phone. Some apps are both 32 bit and 64 bit and can play on this or any phone. If you try to download an app that is 32 bit instead of 64 bit you'll get an error that says, "doesn't work on your phone, is incompatible with your phone or just not downloaded". Guessing this might be in anticipation of Google making all apps available on the Playstore 64 bit apps and getting rid of 32 bit ones in the future. Developers will either have to update their apps to 64 bit or have their app removed from the Playstore.

After trying five other phones, I was down to trying the Google Pixel 7 Pro with Android 13, 512GB storage and 8GB memory and I was disappointing once again with the blandness of the Android OS. The Google phone looks and feels like I am using an Iphone, everything looks like a baby drew it with crayons and the customization features are getting less and less with Android 13.

Background services did work with video doorbell and WiFi Smoke detector apps.

The Screen is nice and bright, however the screen has curved edges more mild than most other curved screens. Still though, why are manufactures building phones with curved screens???? Every so often there is something on the very edge of the screen and you can't tap it because of the curve of the screen. Useless feature.

No customization for the Lock screen features, there is a search bar on the home screen that you can not remove and no more locking apps open in Android 13. The term Pinning apps has changed from "Locking" them open to where they are always open even on a reboot, to pinning the app open full screen. The second option is STUPID and not necessary, but locking apps open and MORE than Six apps at a time is important to me. My Most used apps, I like to stay open the entire time, after restarting the phone, my apps are still open. I don't like having to look for the icon and open the app, just hit the recent app button and there are all the apps I use regularly. Just like my computer, I leave a lot of programs open and I expect them to stay open.

Google advertising a 24 hour battery which tells me that they know their Processor sucks down too much power. The battery is a 5000mAh battery. This size battery in all other phones I've used will last nearly two days, however I did not keep the phone long enough for the "Battery Optimization" to kick in.

The Cameras were very nice and typical for the price of the phone, they performed just shy of Samsung's S22. As one would expect from a Pixel phone, the cameras performed well with some cool editing features in the camera app. Unfortunately you are stuck with Google Photos app, a terrible pile of programming.

Gone are the days of unique personality and style from each manufacture. Now all phones conform into the same bland and boring Android cookie cutter mold to where there is little to no difference in which phone you go with, the exception being the installed hardware. My LG V60 ThinQ made in 2020 with Android 10 has ten times the options and actually has personality, plus all the features that I dearly miss, like App Locking/Pinning, Slow Charge, Embedded Service apps (Keyboard, Phone, Contacts, Messages, Gallery, Files, Notes) that were secure and not tied to a big company, Full Home/Lock screen customization.

Overall the Google Pixel 7 Pro is a great phone for the normal user, taking pictures and video for blogs and tictoc is just what this phone is made for. Surfing the web and checking email, maybe a video conference, all will work good on this phone, but keep a charger cable with you at all times.

I have been using Google Nexus and pixel phones for years. I had a couple of OnePlus phones between the pixel 3 and my 7 Pro. The first thing I noticed was a big drop in reception and overall speed on 5g compared to the OnePlus 8t I had beforehand. A couple of the updates helped some but it still isn't even close to my old 8t. At least it's usable now. The second issue is that the glass on the P7pro is pretty easy to scratch. I wound up with a couple that are deep but I never keep it in my pocket with anything else. I don't even use it with dirty hands but still wound up with scratches. Very disappointing considering I always take care of my phone's.

The good:
The OS is very fast and responsive. The camera takes really good photos as expected. The little features like call screening are excellent. Timely updates are always nice.

The bad:
Screen easy to scratch. The curved screen can be an issue trying to click on items where it wraps and some things just aren't formatted right. Cellular modem kinda sucks. It's weird because if I put it into airplane mode it comes back full strength then slowly drops off until it's just barely holding a connection. If I turn on airplane mode and back off it goes right back to full strenght again for a few. I haven't had issues with it working since a the second update.

While I really like the phone and wanted to move back to Google's OS and camera. I expected it to at least perform on par with a 2yr old OnePlus phone. Unfortunately it's like most things google, just sorta out of beta...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed with the software
Reviewed in the United States ???? on January 24, 2023

I've never used a more frustrating phone just to make and receive phone calls. When the phone rings, I find myself hunting around the phone. Looking for how to answer the call. It's really a deal breaker. Then when you go to make a call, you find out it's recording everything that you're saying and I found the settings where you can turn that off. But overall just making a phone call gets ridiculous. The three phone calls I had in the last 15 minutes, one I was able to answer the call but not put it on speaker. Two other calls. I could not figure out how to answer it because I couldn't find the screen where the call was coming into. This thing is just a nightmare.
I got taken by all the hype about the "pure Android experience". Well, this software can't compare to Samsung. I really miss the persistent notifications I had on my other phone, where a tone would keep reminding you if you had unread notifications on the phone. Notifications are almost useless without that. Settings can be a little daunting, as there are so many and can be a little confusing as to what they do. Less organized than the Samsung.
I should have kept my A52-5G.
But a big plus is that "Hey Google" always works on this phone, and practically never worked on the Samsung.
I will keep this phone and eventually get used to it. Don't believe the "pure Android experience" hype. The choice depends on your preferences. I would recommend the Speigen line of cases for this phone here on Amazon.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Screen...The Speakers

Many moons ago, I was a Samsung user. I had an issue with that phone and sent it back to the manufacturer for repair. In the interim, I bought a Motorola prepaid. The Motorola VASTLY outperformed the Samsung and it was VASTLY less expensive so I become a Motorola guy.

Cut to now, when I purchased the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Again, I am underwhelmed. I sometimes play mobile games on my phone. The graphics, the smoothness of gameplay...they are all noticeably inferior to that of my 2 yr old Motorola Edge. The phone has sometimes struggled to function on sites that have lots of adds as well (which is almost every site these days). And, worse, the built in speakers are merely serviceable.

I wanted to like this phone. I've been using a phone that is hard to find cases for because it's not as prolific as Samsung or Apple but it looks like I have to go back. There is no substitute for quality in every facet.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's a decent Android flagship

I'm coming over from a 4 year old Galaxy Note 9 (the last true great Android phone) and I honestly gotta say that the Pixel 7 pro is a disappointment. My review is based off things I look for in a smartphone which are camera quality, display, battery life, software experience, and general usability.

Straight away I realized the display on the Pixel is noticeably duller and even loses details on some bright areas. The higher refresh rate is nice but I can only imagine how much better the S22 ultra screen is than the Pixel (This holiday season they're about the same price anyways) .

Battery life is also very disappointing. My 4 year old Note 9 has had pretty bad battery life recently, which is why I wanted to upgrade. But to my disappointment the Pixel is BARELY better, which is absolutely absurd. Honestly this is a real deal breaker and everyone who wants to get this phone should know this.

Software experience is also weirdly buggy, but not in an infuriating way. It's smooth and fast but options for various things will fail to load or occasionally crash. Reloading the app will fix the issue but I would've expected a software company like Google to be on top of this. People have have been having these issues since the first Pixel.

Camera is really good, best on any current phone for sure. Can't complain about that.

The device itself seems like a quality product. It's nice to hold in the hand and looks very attractive,. The camera bar does not look out of place and adds a nice contrast to the back design, but it does make the phone feel top heavy.

Modem is decent, not noticeably better than my Samsung but not worse either.

Speakers are not better than the Note 9, nor does it have an SD card slot or headphone jack. But I guess no one does that anyways besides Sony, which also has their fair share of issues.

All in all, it's not a bad phone but it is disappointing. At this point I'd love to give a better recommendation but unfortunately there is no great Android phone on sale right now. So, if you're in the market for an android phone my advice is to wait for next year.

I decided to go with a Google phone after my Samsung S20 Ultra camera kept failing 2 months out of warranty, it was a motherboard issue that was not repairable and Samsung was of no help.

The Pixel 7 pro has all kinds of settings for colors, themes, and whatnot... All of which is of no interest to me. I used a jpg for my wallpaper and there is no setting to keep it still when side scrolling through my apps. The Gboard keyboard is annoying AF, there is no way to turn off suggested gifs, emojis, or stickers from popping up when texting. Finally, this phone is always notifying me of some setting that is available and if I wanted it on I would have done it already.

I guess to sum it up; I don't hate the phone, it works just fine... I hate Googles intrusive and annoying version of the Android OS.

The phone has some glitches.
1) About phone has a line in the middle of the screen.
2) Cámara has a hard time focusing when the light isn't that great. Like in a room with lights on. Outside it takes great pictures.
3) Recently started to have call on speaker malfunctioning and I tested this myself with a phone being lend to me to hear what people where telling me they heard when I had the phone on speaker while on a call.

*For the price I expected more and for the brand also. I'm unable to return the phone since I'm in another country and I don't think is fair for me to take care of the postage it's not my fault the phone has issues. It's still decent but when you buy a last gen phone you don't expect "decent"

Pros
- Hi quality materials and software. Everything works as native and fast

Cons
- Gesture navigation is terrible. While I am scrolling through any list 99% of cases I accidentally trigger a back gesture. This makes me crazy
- Button navigation is good unless it is done reversed, the back button is moved far from my thumb and any other brand phone is done right, so it is practically useless and forces me to use gesture navigation which is even worse.
- battery life is too short, even if you don't use your phone.

Update March 1, 2023. Still the buggiest. Weird stuff just happens. Unable to keep the unlock pattern screen up. Just slides back down. Weird behavior on most apps if you give them enough time. How can there not be a basic sound equalizer? Still have weird Spotify behavior. Google Maps behavior. Wyze, Life360, McDonanalds, Stellarium, etc. So many weird things happen that just didn't before my Pixel. My goodness, the stuff I have given up that Motorola offered that the Pixel doesn't have, just to have a decent camera. The crappy battery is so annoying. I swear I don't work for Motorola. I spent so much less money before and can't believe that the additional price is only for the camera with a loss of functionality in many other aspects. This Pixel doesn't have a 3.5mm headphone/mic jack. So I bought 3 highly rated USB-to-3.5mm mic jack cables. The audio is fine in my ears, but people on the other line can't hear me. Never had that problem before. What a pain. Developers, a $10 wired ear bud set of Sony headset/mic will always have a place. Make sure they will work! When I'm on hold for an hour I'm not trusting your auto call back system and I'm not running down my Bluetooth headphones for that.

Sim card wouldn't recognize. I had to manually enter correct access point info for my service. When connected to car, incoming WhatsApp calls disconnect or make Spotify music disabled. Random microphone issues, some calls won't here me talk, especially when it activates that advanced text reading feature. No, mic isn't disabled in privacy settings. Certain websites don't load properly unless I keep clicking the mobile option (if available). Spotify acting weird. Keeps looping same 4 songs in a playlist sometimes instead of playing playlist in order. Premise Health app just bugged out going partially off screen and back constantly. Unlock screen pattern dots are huge and I can't decrease their layout size. I used to get Gmail notifications on my most important emails. The system somehow knew. Now I get random. I know much of this seems like app issues, but I never had these issues before I bought a Google Pixel. I feel like there are other things, but I kind of just work around them on a daily basis and can't articulate everything for this post. For the past 12 years I've used HTC, Samsung, Motorola, then the Pixel 7 Pro. If the Motorola Stylus had a good camera I would go back to that in a second. Twice the battery life and no system issues. My whole reason to spend the extra money was to get a nice camera, but I've had nothing but problems. Google needs to learn the the basic operation needs to be rock solid. Add things like making separate volume controls for notifications and calls. That is a bigger priority than some of those fancy android modifications that hardly ever get used. Listen, use-wise Motorola has you beat. But your camera is better. Samsung got too expensive. That's it.

Update 11/27 So the fingerprint scanner on this thing worked pretty good while the weather was still kind of warm and then as soon as my hand started to dry out from the cold weather, it's basically worthless. I have to retrain the fingerprint several times a week and even then it works about half the time. I don't understand why they did away with the physical fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone. That was a bad move. The on-screen fingerprint scanners suck for anybody that actually uses their hands or has dry skin or has damp skin? Or I could keep going on but this is just a fail. The good news is it's quick so it rejects me quickly and then I have to type in my pin

I'm really thinking about downgrading to my old pixel 5. Also the speech to text. The one on my pixel 5. It made little mistakes. It would correct things here and there. This one makes giant leaps in the wrong direction, constantly adding question marks And other punctuation where it shouldn't. Or completely changing what I said. Not just a word but an entire sentence. Honestly, it seems like these phones are getting worse instead of better. The camera's great sure, but other than that this was a downgrade. I regret buying it.

Unfortunately I use Google Fi as my phone service which really limits my options for phones. So it looks like I'm going to have to change phone carriers and phones.

Original review. I bought a pixel 6 and gave it to my son because the fingerprint scanner was terrible. I'm glad to see they at least corrected that issue. It works most of the time unless my hand is damp or right after I have showered. otherwise it responds quickly. Also, the speech to text works differently. Prior to this I was using a pixel 5.the pixel 7 tries to predict whether I'm asking question or exclaiming or whatever and throws in random punctuation. It also takes a lot longer to process speech to text. I'd like to think it's trying to make me sound like less of an idiot, but in the end it makes me sound like more of an idiot because it's throwing in random punctuation. The camera is amazing. I'm gobsmacked by how far it can zoom compared to the pixel 5 but the trade off is you have the big lense block protruding from your phone. My biggest complaint is they didn't include a charger. They threw in a USB cable but no charger. That's low rent and that's the reason I'm giving it four stars. Seriously google? Pinch them pennies. The phone is working great. I will up date this review as I have more experience with the phone. So far. I'm about a week in and I'm loving it. But seriously Google you couldn't throw in a charger for $900? For that price you would think that you would be able to give us the charger that probably costs you $3. Not just a USB cable that I can plug into my computer.

I dropped my phone and broke the screen. I had a Google case on it. I was able to get the screen replaced. The phone worked great again for about 3 weeks when all of a sudden the screen went black. It would randomly flash bright white light and green light when I tried to turn the screen back on. Turns out the phone is no good. This is a common and on going problem with the Google phones that they are well aware of. Apparently after a drop or some kind of shock the phone stops working and is unfixable. I find that totally unacceptable. This is a 1000 dollar phone that I cannot use..I would never recommend this product.

Up until this time i have used a cheap Android phone. I bought this Google phone because of the rave reviews on the camera and specifically because it has a telephone lens. The telephoto really only works up to what Google calls 5x ( in camera speak equivalent to maybe a 70mm lens) , after that it can NOT focus. But even with the 5x it will only focus if the subject is in the middle and a straight shot, nothing in front. the double tap feature makes it zoom but not focus where you want it to. Yes the camera is great at maco, but I'm not interested in macro. There is a good chance that this will go back . Also it wont read my fingerprint even though i set it to sensitive. Flashlight only activates for google assistant. Previous cheapo phone allowed me to just shake the phone. Voice to type also does not work.

ok update: the flashlight works if you set IT in the gestures menu, but you only get ONE CHOICE with the double tap option. Managed to unlock voice to type as well as the microphone. But still i expected more from the camera. Someone said there might be a bug with the combination of lens. Now the question, should i wait for google to fix the bug?
another update. The color balance is fine up to 2x, it shifts to too much magenta at 5 x. Also it over exposes at 5X. You CAN correct the exposure before the shot and miss the decisive moment. Color can be fixed after the fact in "editing" but annoying.

I usually never spend extra on phones. However I am a graphic designer and an artist, and decided to splurge for the better camera (I have been using the LGK92 which has a great camera, but there is a lot of limits and you NEED good lighting).

So at first I was enjoying the Pixel 7 Pro, but realized that there is no headphone port. I didn't even think to check, b/c I thought after everyone criticized apple for doing that, no one else would make that mistake. But whatever right? Just get an adapter.

Well I was testing the camera, and got a couple clean shots of my pets. But anything else I tried taking pictures of, the camera would over process and increase the sharpness and black levels. I had watched professional photographers review this phone and everyone criticized the iphone 14 for over processing photos, but the pixel 7pro does it as well! I just wanted clean, well detailed photos with colors that are true to real life. But this makes them unusable to me.

I am returning the phone and going back to my LG for now. Hopefully google will update this to allow users to turn off the over processing.

All other features are great tho! I love the translation features the most. Fingerprint reader was cool (worked just as well and any other tbh) and face recognition I didn't have problems with. So I guess if you don't care about not having a headphone port and can live with the over processed photos, you'd probable like this phone.

I was surprised by this phone and not in a good way. The camera kept shutting off when you attempt to zoom in, the audio of a video kept turning itself off, the display would turn itself on even though no notifications have been received. Furthermore, the keyboard when writing disappears mid sentence, the Bluetooth would not connect to devices even though have been paired, and so many other little things that even my previous older version phones did without much of a problem for half the price. I attempted to replace the phone through Amazon as I bought the phone with the gift cards and I was informed that all they will be able to do is refund me the money and me send the phone back. Well that's a marketing ploy as they charge desperate for the $200 gift cards and I already used them. Well, if Google does not do an exchange of the phone I guess Amazon will be getting a lot of things returned in order for me to get my full refund to be able to get a new phone. Thank you Amazon, you continue to disappoint me even more than ever the last few years and I have been your member since the start. I think I will be cancelling my membership as well.

When I began an Asia trip on December 6, time on some apps increased slightly. Now the phone overheats quickly and battery drain is even more abnormal. I can still use the phone on this extended overseas trip, but I need to be careful with run time. Shutting the phone down when not in use is one solution, but not ideal nor convenient. I am stuck. Severely restricted at a time when I need to use the device for important travel plans and logistics, real-time navigation, and communication. I am very disappointed. I have a month before returning back to the US. I have decided that I must return the phone when I get back. Maybe it is just a faulty device.

So I received the phone today and immediately noticed the 2 seals on the box were already broken. Right away I turned it on and seemed like it was still brand new by checking against the run time, however, broken seals on a brand now phone was never good. Shipping box and tape were all in good condition. Since I believed no one turned on and messed with the phone, I decided not to return it. I raised my concern over this with Amazon chat agent and hopefully he would forward this to management.

Now the Pixel 7 Pro...it felt premium and did not feel bulky at all. Set up was straight forward. More to follow in a few weeks of use.

I really hate the programming/human factors. I think this phone is going back. This is the first phone I have ever bought that I really hated. Here's the problem:

They placed the "At A Glance" app on the home screen so that it shows up as the date and temperature. It is a small app, about 2 icons wide. Click on it and you get your reminders. However, you can't add anything else on that line. Also, you can't remove it or even move it. WTF? I want the clock widget on that line. I want the calendar on the 3rd screen. Pixel doesn't give me that choice.

Also, the Google search app is fixed on the home screen. I don't need it there at all since I can say "Hey Google" and the app will open.

I buy a new phones every year or two for my wife and myself. I have been using android phones since they were first introduced and have mostly liked them. I had a Samsung S20+ and wanted to get rid of the bloatware so I bought the 7pro to solve that problem. This phone is not the answer. All I did was trade one problem for a problem that was in my opinion, much worse.

I thought the benefit of Android was the ability to customize everything. If I wanted a phone that I couldn't customize, I would have bought an iPhone.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I've used the phone for a couple of days and have some additional comments to give the review some balance.

2 things I like and 2 more I don't like:

Positives:
This phone easily supports video calling which is a nice feature. The down side is you need to think about what you are wearing. For spouses that are out of town, it can keep the home fires burning.

Phone messages are automatically copied to text at no charge. This makes it easy to review any messages without having the hassle of replaying them.

More negatives:
There is no speed dialing. If you want to call someone on your special calling list, you have to look for the photo and press it. I strongly prefer speed dialing with the phone app opening to the keypad.

The navigation bar is really screwed up. It is possible to turn on a navigation bar if you play with the settings. However, the buttons are reversed from the standard layout. The back button is on the left and the open apps button is on the right. You can find an acceptable navigation app in the Play Store, but the system version bleeds through until you play around with the transparency of the navigation bar. If you turn off the system navigation bar, the area for the bar is really cramped.

In my opinion, the bad far outweighs the good. If I were in charge of the Pixle team, I would have to have a major software rewrite. There is no reason for hardware this good to be handicapped by programmers that have written software this buggy.

I still give it one star. If I had the choice, I might change it to one and a half stars but not two stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Google should get "0" for creating this garbage
Reviewed in the United States ???? on December 5, 2022

Hello:
This is my review of Google Pixel 7 pro.
1. No charger; you have to buy your own charger. How can Google claim that the phone will be charged from 0 to 80 or 100% in certain number of minutes, but do not include a charger? Charger would cost less that $5; is that really so much for Google to include the charger with the $1,000 phone?
2. It takes 1-3 hours to charge from 0% to 100%; mine usually takes about 2.5 hours despite having a 30 watts charger; I bought it specifically for this Pixel 7 pro. My previous phone, One Plus 7, would have 100% charge in less than 1 hour.
3. It becomes really hot when using the phone or charging it; so hot that I am afraid it may catch fire.
4. Changing apps is very difficult; you have to close one in order to open another one.
5. Shutting down: You have to press and hold the Power button and Volume Up at the same time. Then you will see the menu to shut it off.
6. You are only allowed to use 5 rows in the home page. Besides the top of the page information row, one row is taken by date . It can not be removed. Waste of space in home page.
7. There is a Google Search bar in the home page of the Pixel 7; I have tried so many hours to remove it, but it just won't go away; so the 2nd row is being waisted, without allowing to remove the search bar.
8. The number of icons in columns and rows can not be adjusted; they are set at 4 in every row, and 5 in every column.
9. Several of my previous apps crash and can not be opened when I migrated them to Pixel 7 Pro. I uninstalled and reinstalled them but still nothing yet. One of them is actually Google Translate. It shuts down every time I click on the icon to open it; and it gives a garbage message. So much so for Smart Watch. More like a dumb operating system.
10. Hey Google does not work. I have called Google twice. First time took 2 hours until Google tech support said it is a known issue with some Pizel 7 pro units and they are working on it. 2nd time they said they have not found a solution.
Google should have a better QC before releasing their products. I just returned their product and bought an iPhone for the first time.

1.0 out of 5 stars GPS doesn't work, support very mediocre, do not buy on amazon

The GPS on my Pixel 7 Pro does not work unless you have been stationary for a long time. In practical terms, this means you can't use any sort of maps for navigation. The image shows on a GPS satellite tracking app I am connected to no satellites.

I contacted google about this issue, and they asked me to do some troubleshooting, which involved me driving around after each step to verify that my navigation still did not work. Google then requested that I take my phone to a asurion location to have it repaired, however the nearest one was over an hour and a half away. Next I was offered a standard exchange, where I could send my phone to google, they can verify the issue, and then eventually send me back either my repaired phone or a new phone.

I explained to their support how inconvenient this is and was told that to get a replacement before sending my phone, I would have to provide a valid proof of purchase with the IMEI number visible because I purchased the phone from amazon instead of google. The standard invoice from amazon does not contain this information, and after contacting amazon support I was transferred three times and told repeatedly that they could not provide this.

All things considered this has been a frustrating experience, and I would recommend you buy a Samsung or some other brand that wont have issues in the first place. If you want to buy a pixel better make sure you buy it from google.

PS My power and volume buttons regularly stop working too and I have to restart the phone to fix it, at least once a day.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst phone i ever had

Where to start, I'm sure there are many people which love pixel phones, but after my experience it is not for everyone, if you are used to certain functions and reliability, go away. From a HW perspective, phone seems to be well designed and constructed (and yet there are already people having issues with randomly broken camera glass) and it is probably the best thing i see on the phone itself. SW on the other side is a disappointment sometimes a disaster. I did like close to stock android phones (e.g. OnePlus) but had also a great experience with modified android phones (e.g. Samsung). Believed the plain android will be superb experience and what i miss i can simply add through apps. Uff, it is not possible, customization, screen mirroring and others, simply disappointing. But frozen screen, not working functions, issues with 5G, VOIP etc...disaster. If you want to be productive and like your phone fully, Pixel is probably not the right choice. Last thing is camera...it is good, but while compare it e.g. with my older Samsung Note 10+ the difference is not so huge, while compare it with latest S23 which bought to my wife i womder what is the hype around Pixel's camera...the magic features trying to remove thinga from image...good idea but very bad execution, it is so visible in the image that something elss was there...not usable for images you want to show/use in bigger format like TV (oh wait, you can't do that without dedicated Google cast device so withwr you don't mind because it is a small screen anyway or ypu are within google.ecosystem and you tolerate issues no matzer what...) But i guess for ordinary customer, without lock for any specific brand, looking for reliability and features, Pixel is a bad choice. Feel frustrated and betrayed.

1.0 out of 5 stars hardware issues, heating up, screen flickering after only 4 months
Reviewed in the United States ???? on February 3, 2023
Size: 128GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: HazelVerified Purchase
This has been my worst phone buying experience. I received my phone beginning of November, and I've already sent it back for a replacement based on the warranty. I use it normally, not 24/7 on the phone, but it started heating up and the screen started flickering, there was a green light, lighting up around the area where the buttons are every.
The warranty handling was also an issue. I still haven't received a replacement and had to buy a cheaper phone so I can go through my day to day life before they ship it. Also, they mentioned the replacement might be a refurbished phone (that is if they don't ask me to pay). So I bought a new phone and after 4months I don't know what I'll be getting. Good job!
The support rep was very condescending too - or the template they use. I'm a software eng, I can recognize when there's a software issue vs a hardware, I told them about the issue and they told me "do a factory reset, I'm positive it will be fixed". Yes, because that fixes hardware heating up.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible call quality
Reviewed in the United States ???? on November 14, 2022

I only had this phone for about 3 weeks. Weeks 1-2, the phone was fine. The features all worked, especially the voice-to-text features, which are important to me as I work in service at customer's sites and have to enter a lot of text into an android app. The pixel voice to text is second to none. However, on week 3, my phone cuts in and out during calls, so that every 3-5 seconds of working call is met with 3-5 seconds of skipped audio-both ways, no matter what type of caller I am on the phone with. Obviously this was not acceptable, so I tried to contact google technical support. I wouldn't wish that experience on any other human, I don't believe they were interested in solving the problem as much as waste your time so that you give up. I am able to return this to amazon thankfully and pull out my old Samsung A52 with a worn out battery, but thankfully it does have 2 way audio on calls. I was not aware it was possible to take this big of a step backwards in technology. If you have a functional entry level phone, do not exchange it for a pixel. My Pixel was the 256GB 7 Pro in obsidian, would not recommend.

1.0 out of 5 stars Modem has major issues
Reviewed in the United States ???? on December 2, 2022
Size: 256GBStyle: Phone OnlyColor: ObsidianVerified Purchase
Battery life is ok (not great), fingerprint reader is good, but none of that matters when Google ships phones without properly testing the modem.

I received the phone, set it up at my house (on WiFi) - everything seemed great.

The first time I left the house, though, also happened to be the first time I took a 60 minute drive, and i needed Waze. As soon as I left the house's WiFi range, Waze started complaining about a lack of network connectivity.

I pulled over and tried everything... Turn on/off airplane mode, turn off/on data, restart the phone, set up advanced SIM settings... Nothing worked.

Later, i looked up more possible solutions and tried all of them - nothing worked.

While looking into solutions, i did see a lot of complaints about this phone's network connectivity.

I'm not sure if i just happened to have gotten a bad one, but i don't really care - not up to me to be Google's QA tester. My particular phone had serious connectivity issues, it will be sent back, and I'll find something else.

I've had OnePlus phones, LG, Samsung, Motorola, Essential... They each had their issues, but at least those issues were manageable.

Not having any connectivity because of a faulty modem? Not manageable...

1.0 out of 5 stars Greatly Dislike This Phone
Reviewed in the United States ???? on December 5, 2022

I absolutely dislike this phone and regret purchasing it. I have never had a pixel before, always a Samsung or other Android. I find it completely annoying to have every move I make on this phone directed by Google. There is a search bar at the bottom of the phone that you can't remove, takes up a huge space.

One thing I dislike the most is the motions of the phone. You have to swipe this way or that to get something done, and NEVER works the way it should. It is beyond frustrating. I have felt like throwing this phone across the room many times. You also can't just silent your ring or just your notification, it has to be both. There are no back arrows, or app menu button. You can't create folders on the "app drawer" and have a huge long list of apps. This is also beyond annoying.

I though the battery was supposed to be fantastic, but that too has failed. The only positive on this phone is the camera. This phone had left me beyond frustrated and almost in tears. I can't stand it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy "renewed" phones from Amazon. They are all defective garbage.

Ordered an unlocked "renewed" Google Pixel 7 pro from Amazon. Not a third party seller - direct from Amazon. This phone lasted maybe five minutes before the screen just died. As in, no display. But there was a sweet light at the edge of the screen whenever I pressed the side button. Pretty. The return process has been an absolute nightmare too, but that is a separate review. Bottom line, Amazon is selling defective garbage and calling it "renewed". And then they'll take a month or longer to return your money. I just loaned Amazon almost $700 of my money, and they don't even have the courtesy to pay me interest for my loan.

I have purchased this phone for a good price. There are many special features are missing because phone will not update to Dec 2022 and Jan 2023 versions. I have been using Pixcel 6 Pro and it was also disaster with many system issues, too. I have tried Pixcel 6 Pro and 7 Pro and the outcome is the same. I will move on with Apple Iphone next. My current Iphone 13 Pro Max has been working really well. Another issue is I really don't care if it is carrier or google responsibility. Why neither one of them take responsibility for what's causing the phobe performance. On the other side, Apple at least take responsibility.
