We bought this on reading its reviews to replace a Brevelle oven we had for a few years. It toasts bread as it should, air frys wonderfully and bakes as it should. The capacity is just right and Its controls are easy to use. The digital display is clear and easy to read, even from far away. As some said it can be noisy, especially when air frying but it's comparable to how the Brevelle sounded. One thing to note is the inside is steel and cleaning can be a bit difficult as I think just about every oven like this is. I wish it had a self cleaning mode. All in all very happy with it and highly recommended.

We’re only about a week in of using our new Ninja. So far we’re very happy with the overall performance. The controls are easy to figure out and use. The Ninja preheats super fast, cooks very evenly, and the convection is slightly faster than our regular electric oven. We purchased a bamboo cutting board that sits on top of the Ninja. It has heat resistant feet and allows hot air to circulate out and is a very handy place to set a pan on coming out of the oven or keeping the instructions and a pair of mitts right with the oven. Good oven mitts are a must! The oven gets very hot. Fingered mitts are my next purchase. As other reviewers mentioned it is a bit noisy because of the fan but not a big deal. The crumb tray on the bottom catches crumbs, liquid spills, etc. slides out easily for cleaning. Definitely wipe the interior down after each use or two after it cools down. Overall we are extremely happy. I will post a follow up review when I’ve used more of the functions.

We purchased this in a grateful that we did because a day later the oven broke and this was the only way we had to cook food for a week!

It's very versatile and we used it almost exclusively for a month now to cook for two people.

The sides do get extremely hot and it is very large. It takes up a lot of counter space but has the biggest cooking space of the combo air fryer toaster ovens that we looked at. I'm very pleased with it and would highly recommend it.

It probably isn't the best for baking as tops don't get quite as brown or golden as they do in a traditional oven, but certainly works very well for roasting vegetables and if you don't need things to be pitch or perfect, it does cook very well, even if the tops don't brown quite as well.

I have made cookies, meat, vegetables, dehydrated herbs for my guinea pigs, and done many of the things in this oven and I am extremely pleased with it and very happy with my purchase.

To start with let me begin with things I like about and then move on to those things that are improvement and lastly one that is poor.

Shipping box and delivery from Amazon.com LLC. was as typical of PRIME with one issue with missing delivery by a day and having no notifications as normal fulfillment goes with Amazon.

Oven was shipped in a sturdy and protective box and packed well.

Oven documentation was adequate but a little confusing with the "2nd level" feature and how the thermometer works in conjunction with the different cooking methods. This was resolved after acclimating with the learning curve but was not difficult, simply different processes.

Quality is outstanding and can feel the thickness of the stainless, the steal, glass, and rubber seals for the door, the tactile feedback and "button" feels solid, the display is bright and good colors.

There is a review that is popular with noise complaints and light, etc. I will address these:

Noise: The feature of this oven is it's "True Surround Convection" trademarked technology. (while it sounds gimmicky indeed) it truly is impressive and that user clearly was uneducated from the manual as it clearly states there are 4 different modes, Max, High, Med, Low that the rear heated elements are circulating that hot air. If you want fast as possible and crispy as your vivid imagination can create or desire than you will hear the NINJA - True Surround Convection sound like it is swirling that hot air to bring your tastebuds to heights you enjoy and that will be obviously loud not as in vacuum loud, hair dryer loud but circulating air in a XL cavity loud but not interfering with your music, tv or conversation.

If you are concerned about waking up a mouse than use low-med speed as any generic convection countertop oven out there you have used for years; like my old Walmart cheapy Farberware that I used daily but when you compare this Ninja Foodi Air Fryer XL to anything else, you must understand this is like comparing a broom to a vacuum or a base model car to fully loaded and optioned out with everything.

Warm up to temperature is less than 90 seconds and gives you a cool tone when preheating has reached temperature.

Temperatures while cooking are on par with any high-quality oven, consistent and even.

Accessories are good enamel cookware! When you use as directed with the drip tray and roasting tray on the bottom when using the basket to fry in, all messes are virtually non-existent and due to quality in material they are easy to soak up to a few hours for the worst soak in dawn and at end hot water rinse and you're done.

On to another complaint of the popular Negative review is talking about auto light... Nope... This oven has a light, it comes on and goes off automatically.

Another was tray on bottom not coming out with top basket, yes, you will have to use two hands to pull out a basket and drip tray at same time or use a piece of foil and lay over door and pull basket. However, I use to hands to drive with, empty trash or whisk in a bowl... Two hands are not a deal breaker and they slide easily and well...

THE BAD AND UGLY

Customer Service all outsourced and overseas and barely speak English and lack of any specialty or in-depth training/ knowledge. They might as well have no phone support as this was twice HORRIBLE.

If you do get oils and stains on oven interior there is not good coating on the walls, and you must use stronger cleaner as there is no "soaking" for the chassis so the coating they use does not hold and comes off easily with chemicals like easy oven cleaner.

For whatever reason engineered WITHOUT REAR FAN SPLASH GUARD; this was STUPID!!! what a mistake!

Shark Ninja Warranty?

I have used daily since purchase and an element broke (glass) at the top, thought that I was going to have "flack" and must fight.

I did not, they asked me to use my phone so they could video with me to see the defect, talked to manager and in seconds they issued me a new oven and gave me a return label PREPAID to them on the defective one.

WOW... JUST WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My oven will be here in a few days new in the box and I am excited.. I love all my meals from this oven..

This oven has so many outstanding reviews, and now I know why. One of the best investments for my kitchen I’ve ever made.

It’s fast. Pre-heat for any function is less than a minute. Just seconds and it’s at temp. Think about all the energy saved, not to mention prep time. Meals get served quickly!

Air fry function really delivers. Things like frozen nuggets, tots, egg rolls, etc come out like they’re freshly deep fried. You’re getting healthier versions of comfort food at home, with little mess. If you’re going to eat something “less healthy,” why not be able to get the most out of the flavors and textures. Again, food cooks so fast, it’s pretty mind boggling. The air fry tray is quite large, so a lot of food can be cooked at once. I use air fry to do a lot of things- even get the excess moisture out of pre-scrambled egg whites.

The pizza setting makes frozen pizza taste better than delivery. Again, quickly! We keep frozen cheese pizzas in the freezer for quick dinners. I cut up some veggies and toss them on. 9 minutes later dinner is ready. I consider this oven to save us a lot of money. No more delivery pizza. We get exactly what we want, made how we want, for a fraction of the price.

Set it and forget it- pretty much. With so many pre-sets and options, I can put a meal in and go about my business without having to check the oven constantly. That means I can clean the kitchen and get things done around the house without being tied to the stove. I’m not saying it’s totally sentient, just that it’s smarter than the really nice conventional oven in my kitchen.

Space to cook. This thing has room in it. Yeah, it takes up some real estate on the counter, but not so much that it feels like it doesn’t belong. Being able to cook multiple things at once is really nice. I use the square Corning ware casserole dishes for most of my baked dishes, and I can bake two of them at once. It’s a nice balance of compact kitchen appliance and usable cooking space. Can I cook a turkey in it? Eh, probably not, but a chicken, yep. Not many limitations to this oven, and that is so nice.

Having a countertop oven means I can see my food easily, and it’s easy to pop things in the oven, and take them out. If you have health issues that make bending over difficult, I can see this appliance making life easier on you. I roast peppers a lot, and I like being able to glance over and see how the charring is progressing. Small, simple things like this add to its charm.

The controls are on the handle. That means there’s more overall cooking space in the oven. Clever idea, Ninja.

Doesn’t heat up the kitchen like a regular oven. Enough said.

We are a family of six and I have been wanting this larger size Ninja air fryer since shortly after I got the Ninja Foodie Flip (just one tray of food at a time fits in that one). I am short on kitchen counter space but honestly this thing could almost replace my oven and microwave if I needed it to! Husband finally got this one for me a few weeks ago and since the day I set it up, I have been using it at least once (but usually multiple times) per day.

I make chicken breasts from frozen super easily using the air roast function, I also air roast zucchini and red onion slices to go with the chicken and man, oh man is it all delicious and so simple! I was cooking the chicken in my cast iron skillet previously, and I still like the flavor of it when I cook with cast iron, but the air roasting is SO MUCH EASIER. Instead of standing at the stove cooking the chicken on the cast iron, I just put it on a tray, cook it in the Ninja enough to thaw, then take it out, spray with olive oil, and sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic. Then I put it back in for a bit to cook on that side, then flip the chicken, spray olive oil and sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic on the other side, cook for a bit longer until the meat thermometer reads above 165° F, and *voila!* Perfectly air roasted chicken that gets the huge compliment from husband: "Wow, it doesn't taste too chicken-y! It tastes like the rotisserie chicken from the store!"

We also make pizza in this, as well as various veggies and snacks like green bean fries and cauliflower tots. I can make a whole meal at once with this bigger size and this makes my life so much easier! My only regret is not getting it way sooner. ;D

The first thing we did with this is make dried pineapple slices and beef jerky. (we got the dehydrator racks from Ninja website, we couldn't find a cheaper knock-off lol). Pineapple took longer than the guide said but the beef jerky was right on time. For normal use, this pre-heats very fast, holds temp well and is easy to clean as long as you take precautions. ( I would wrap crumb tray and/or bake sheets in foil to catch any fatty/messy drippings below). We love it and it gets used all the time!!
