Crazy sweet, cut with fruit to tame the sweetness!
My hubby got into protein shakes to help lose weight and I found these for him to try. We are both new to the world of protein shakes and this is the first can of powder we have tried. It was passable mixed with water and slightly better mixed with milk but the taste is so overwhelmingly sweet! For people who are

powder seemed like a few steps in the wrong direction. But tonight I found a solution that leaves me craving this stuff. I put one scoop of powder, half a bag of frozen cranberries (fresh at thanksgiving, tossed in the freezer for smoothies year round), two hearty handfuls of chopped kale and add just enough fresh goat milk (we raise dairy goats) to get my blendtec to mix it. Blend into a smoothie and fight the kids to get more than a few sips of it. The bitterness of the kale and tartness of the cranberries cuts the sweetness quite a bit while not overpowering the chocolate caramel flavor. The milk helps retain the silky mouthfeel. I was able to hide cod liver oil and lacto-fermented saukraut (best probiotics I ever had) in the smoothie without him detecting it. Now that I found a way to make it taste good, we will probably drink it every day. We also got the cookies n cream flavor, it is slightly less sweet and I am able to drink it by itself, but I may Doctor it up too. You can never get too many vegetables hidden in there.
