Did quite a bit of research on Dash Cams and settled in on the Crosstour dash cam. Overall one gets a dash cam from one of the most reputable brands in the marketplace. For me in the beginning a little awkward ti get use to. Plus a minor glitch that Crosstour was able to handle on line and get corrected. Overall I am
pleased with this unit. However I may upgrade to the all in one unit that has GPS and Dash Cam in one unit.
BUY NOWAnd yes I do have a Crosstour GPS which has never let me down. There are many out there but I would suggest one stay with a brand name, a lot generic dash cams out there and if to cheap to be true, well there is a reason for that. Like anything else you get what you pay for.
Above my expectations!
I have a good understanding about cameras and was surprised to see the footage with the sun right into the lens of this little dashcam (pics 1 and 2). I was actually expecting at least a third of the image to be white, but you can clearly see even license plates (red plates in red in picture 2 can all be read).
The lens is pretty wide, covering almost the whole windshield. The quality of the videos is also great. The camera makes automatically 3-minute long videos that are overwritten once the memory is full. Taking a snapshot seems to be better quality than video (at least at night time).
The mounting hardware is solid, with the USB connection on it so you don't need to unplug anything when removing the camera from the mount. The charger connects to your lighter and has an additional USB port on it, and it starts recording when the car is on.
I will get another one for my dad soon!
High Quality and Easy to Use Dashcam
I purchased this dashcam for my commercial van. The dashcam is absolutely brilliant, it has a elegant design, the buttons are comfortably positioned. It has a nice quality lenses, good microphone and you have an option to record your videos in fullHD mode. I used other dashcams in the past, and most of were complicated to use, but this one, on the other hand, is very simple and easy to navigate, the screen is big enough to see the details. So far, I tried night mode which is amazing, motion detection sensor that has great sensitivity, loop recording has multiple options to choose from- in terms of video length. Adding the licence plate number and a time & date stamp another great feature for this device. The only thing I would recommend to a manufacturer is to include a memory card in the box so a buyer could use right after he receives the package. I have been using it for few days only so I can't comment on its durability yet but it looks pretty durable and doesn't have any malfunctions. I am very happy with my purchase and will probably buy another one for my wife's car.
Excellent product for the price!
The night vision feature is working and provides a clear display. I also found the motion detection and loop recording working as described. The unit was easy to install and I am glad to own another Sony product. Remember to install the external battery source so all your features work correctly. I found that some parts of the documentation needs to be updated or included.

Top of the Line Car Camera
This is a very well designed and manufactured vehicle camera. The packaging was first class, and the user interface is logical and well organized. The windshield attachment is sturdy, well balanced, and uses suction instead of adhesive, which is much more reliable in the summer heat. The video quality is very good. The wide angle lens gives you a wonderfully broad record of the action in front of your vehicle, which is essential for liability mitigation. I have no complaints.
Good dashcam for rideshare drivers
As a female Lyft driver, this is exactly what I've been looking for. The inside camera has night vision, which important as a night driver. I feel much safer doing the bar scene now. I also love that it can just power on/off automatically, loop records, and will automatically save any footage in the event of an accident. I would reccomend all women drivers get a dashcam for their safety. It's a great deterrent.
Small discreet camera
I took a picture from front of car because what I was looking for in a car camera among other things was something small & discreet. Not only does this need fit that criteria, I found a nice surprise in how powerful the suction is. Can't beat 1080hd picture & with a nice 170° angle view. The instructions were fairly simple to follow & if you're anything familiar with electronics, you can navigate your way on the camera with the buttons fairly easily as well. The price is/was good at the $50-$100 range. I would easily recommend this camera to family, friends or co-workers! 5 Stars all around.
