accuracy test was to find the center of my first stud and see if the second stud center was 24" apart. Center to center measured 23.75". For repeatability, I measured from that second stud to a third and it measured 24.25". I don't know what tolerance construction workers must keep but it is close enough for me. I have been disappointed for years with a variety of "Stud Finders". My search is over. I bought another one the same day I received this one and sent it out as a gift...Isn't it great to be satisfied with a tool?
