5.0 out of 5 stars Works with Samsung Dex
Reviewed in the United States ???? on February 27, 2023
Color: Space GreyVerified Purchase
The reason I bought this brand and model of hub was because someone recommended it to me for Samsung Dex. It's odd that in the Amazon description it's stated that the hub is "incompatible" with Samsung Dex. Typo maybe?

The one snag I ran into is that after I had everything plugged in (HDMI to my monitor, USB-As to my keyboard and trackball, hub power cord, and USB-C to my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone) I had to re-start my phone before it would recognize the hub and auto-run Dex.
No problems once I learned that trick. I've switched the phone and hub off and on a number of times and Dex always comes back up.
The phone even recharges off the power to the hub.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hiearcool USB C Hub: The Perfect Solution for Expanding Your Device's Connectivity Options
Reviewed in the United States ???? on January 15, 2023
Color: Space GreyVerified Purchase
The Hiearcool USB C hub is an excellent choice for anyone looking to expand their device's connectivity options. The hub features a USB-C port for power delivery and data transfer, as well as a range of other ports including HDMI, SD card reader, and USB 3.0 ports.

The build quality of the hub is solid and it feels durable in the hand. The compact size of the hub makes it easy to take on the go, and it can be a lifesaver when you're on the road and need to connect to a variety of devices.

The HDMI port allows for 4K resolution output, which is great for streaming or displaying presentations. The SD card reader is a convenient feature for photographers and videographers, making it easy to transfer files from a camera. The USB 3.0 ports are also useful for connecting peripherals like a mouse, keyboard or external hard drive.

The USB C port can be used to charge your device while using the hub, which is great for devices that have a USB C port but not enough ports, like laptops.

Overall, the Hiearcool USB C hub is a versatile and reliable accessory that offers a lot of functionality in a small package. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to expand the capabilities of their device.

This is where the Hiearcool USB C Hub, Adapter comes to the rescue. One adaptor that will connect your Apple Product with just about anything you can think of. A great deal at a great price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Power Pass Works Great if You Use Powerful Enough Charging Block!

I purchased this to use with a 2022 iPad Pro 11". I needed to be able to insert an SD card from a camera, as well as a SSD drive AND a hard drive to copy the images from the card to. I also wanted to be able to plug in the power cable to the hub, and have it charge the iPad while the hub, SSD, Hard Drive and SD card were attached.

However, the pass thru only works with no drives attached using a low power charger like the one that comes with the iPad Pro. As soon as I attach an SSD drive then the pass thru power to charge the iPad does not work. I've tried multiple hard drives, SSDs, etc. all with the same results. As soon as I attach a drive, the power quits being passed through to the iPad Pro.

HOWEVER, I recently ordered the 100W EHO USB C charger - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0983JB2L1?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details. Now I can connect everything to this hub and the power pass thru charging works great!

Warning: This is NOT a 7-in-1 device as advertised.

The USB Type C port cannot be used for data, as it only provides power. If you plug a USB Type C data drive into the USB Type C port NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. The port is somewhat useful since you can plug a power cable into the USB Type C port and it will feed the power to the computer through the USB Type C cable. But it cannot provide data.

The 6 actual functions provided are:

1) HDMI video out
2) USB 3.0 Type A (1st port)
3) USB 3.0 Type A (2nd port)
4) SD Card port
5) Micro SD (TF) card port
6) USB Type C Power

Overall, I'm happy with the device for the price, and I can always unplug the hub (or my external monitor) from the laptop in order to connect a USB Type C drive, but I would really have preferred to be able to use the USB Type C port as a pass-through for data connectivity.

3.0 out of 5 stars This hub has a USB-C PD jack, which doesn't transmit data (just power; PD=power delivery)

As a novice USB-C hub purchaser, I didn't realize that if a USB-C port is labeled "PD" it means that it won't provide data to an external drive, for instance. Or drive an external monitor. It just puts watts into a cable, in case that's what you wanted. But I wanted to add an external drive, plus some USB ports for flash drives and a mouse. So, I returned this particular hub and bought a more expensive USB-C hub that includes a USB-C port that includes data transmission.

TL:DR// The device functionality deteriorates at extreme rates when using both USB 3.0 & HDMI ports.

The product looks and feels nice. I bought the blue one; in person it appears to be of a royal blue tone. It’s lightweight and has a sturdy build. The functionality, which is it’s purpose, is where problems have arise instantly after unboxing.

I originally purchased this product because I needed a USB-C & HDMI port, which my current Anker dongle does not have. After I unboxed the dongle I connected it to my MacBook Air M1 to test the ports.

HDMI: The HDMI port appears to work perfectly fine. The quality is good, however, I have it connected to a 32” Toshiba Class V35 Series HD Smart TV. In comparison to the quality on my MacBook Air M1, the letters are noticeably blurry, but still legible. The video quality is still good, but I can see more pixels than on the MacBook. Not too much that it’s unwatchable. So for most people this works perfectly.

USB-C: I intended to use this port to connect a mechanical keyboard. Fortunately, the keyboard requires a USB3 port, because you can’t use this USB-C port to connect devices. You can use this USB-C port to charge your MacBook if it has the USB-C power cord. Although, I can’t attest if that’s safe for your device.

USB 3.0: I’ll just cut straight to it, these don’t work. So if you need them don’t purchase this. I will be returning it because of this. First, I tested my keyboard and mouse on my Anker dongle and they worked perfectly fine. When I connected them to this dongle I noticed some problems. If you only use 1 USB3 port it works fine. If you decide to use both, that’s when functionality deteriorates. My keyboard was working but there was a noticeable lag. My mouse wouldn’t work at all, it couldn’t connect to the USB 3.0 while the keyboard was connected.

SD/TF: I have no need for these slots currently, so I have not tested their functionality. However, based on the USB 3.0 slots not working properly, this isn’t worth the price if you just need these.

Overall, this product had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it did not live up to its potential.

For the consumer, not worth it.
For the producer, if you fix the port functionality, you’ll have a winning product.

Description says "Compatible Devices" for this are "Smartphones, Tablets, Laptops, Card Readers, Televisions". I tried it on two Android phones (a Pixel 6 & a Moto-G6) as well as on a Samsung Galaxy Tab-A, ALL OF WHICH can produce HDMI video using the HolyLife product (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09W8Y3WVN?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details).
I want to be able to attach a cabled keyboard and mouse as well (or their equivalent 2.4GHz dongles), though, and the HolyLife device does not offer any such connections.
Too bad, since this Hiearcool Adapter seems very well built, and is quite compact and looks classy. The USB-C cable that connects to the host (phone, tablet, etc.) is a bit shorter and stiffer than I would like, but that's really a small quibble.
So, sadly, it goes back. If anyone has any suggestions for a single contraption that will accept power and provide HDMI and at least 2 USB device connections, and that's known to work with Android devices, I'd love to hear about it.

I bought this to use instead of the large Dell docking station that I have. It does allow me to plug in SD cards, USB devices, and an HDMI cable, all of which seem to work. No issues there.

However, when I connect a power supply to it and attempt to pass that through to the laptop, that's when the problems begin.

It does not pass through the amount of power that it claims (100W), and the laptop throws up warnings about receiving very little power.

But worse than that, this thing makes NOISE when connected to a power supply. Scritchy-scratchy NOISE. Constantly. And it's almost too hot to even touch.

So, fine for adding ports to your laptop. Terrible for providing power to your laptop.

Fast forward to December of 2022 and my Macbook is bricked. I believe it started with a slight buzzing sound coming from the hub when it was not connected to my Macbook that could be heard if the room was silent, but once connected the buzzing would go away. I continued to use the hub without issue for some time, until eventually one day my Macbook screen would not turn on. Turns out the logic board was fried. Thankfully my laptop was still under Applecare and they fixed it ($700 to fix without coverage).
So buyer beware of this hub as it can eventually destroy your laptop.

1.0 out of 5 stars Design problem. Interference with wireless devices

Color: Space GreyVerified Purchase
I bought this to use with my MacBook Pro. I travel for presentations and needed some thing that would allow me to connect HDMI to a projector, USB type a for a wireless presenter dongle, and be able to charge my laptop.

I received the hub and plugged everything and it all worked, but I did everything right on my desk in close proximity to each other. A couple weeks later when I was traveling for work, if I moved my wireless presenter more than a foot away from the dongle plugged into the hub, the presenter would stop working. If I unplugged the HDMI the range would increase from 1 foot to 3 feet, which is not sufficient for most people who need a wireless presenter. I assumed it was a power issue and tried plugging in my wall adapter to the USB type C in the hub, but this did not seem to help. I also noted that it was inconsistent that the types c plugged into the hub would charge my laptop, often needing to make sure I plug things in the correct order to get this to work. Every time my projector was turned off between presentations I would have to go back through plugging and unplugging in the correct order to try to get the power to charge my laptop with HDMI getting plugged in after the power showed connected on the MacBook.

I also noticed a lot of interference with my wireless microphone, which I’ve never experienced before. The conference center let me borrow a different type C hub, which is a similar configuration of having a single type C plug-in for the laptop. This hub had no problem with my wireless presenter, and my wireless microphone stopped having interference.

Not sure if this is a defective unit, or a defective design? When I tested it I was within the return window, but when I realize that it was not going to work I had missed the end of the return window and Amazon is unwilling to return the device.

I thought this dongle/hub was a great idea. I've ordered three of them in total, one for my wife, two for myself. They all have the same problem where, after a little while things stop working most of the time. Especially bad are the USB ports. I attach a USB stick and 8 times out of 10, the drive doesn't show up as being connected. I need to repeat connecting/disconnecting of the dongle and/or the drive itself until it connects at some point. And I need to be super delicate when transferring files because it will disconnect very easily. This happening on one of the three is acceptable; a faulty unit. This happening on all three suggests a fatal design flaw. I will never buy from this company again.

1.0 out of 5 stars Having issues with the USB compatablity

Bought this product to add ports to a brand new Lenovo 91 Yoga laptop. First: the good part, the HDMI connection works great. But the two USB 3.0 ports are really a problem: they barely work at all. When I plug the "dongle" in for my wireless keyboard, I get the audio notification that my computer recognizes that a USB device has been plugged in. BUT, most of the time it refuses to recognize any input from the keyboard. Occasionally it DOES allow keystrokes but there's a massive lag (5-10 seconds) between the time you hit a key and when the letter shows up onscreen. it's unusable. With a wireless mouse dongle, it's the same issue: usually it refuses to pass any data through the port. When using the USB port for a thumb drive, it does seem to work normally, though I have not checked the speed to validate USB 3.0 speeds.
I can forgive some problems with an inexpensive USB hub, but unfortunately this one is unusable. Based on other reviews that rate it high, perhaps I just got a bad one?

1.0 out of 5 stars Adapter glitched out my software

Likes: varies adapters

DISLIKES: plugged into my software just fine. Once I connected the HDMI into my monitor my (mac) laptop started blinking with a black screen. I waited a bit and tried again and it showed up with a blinking white screen. I disconnected the adapter frm my laptop, as I decided just to forget about the monitor… Then my laptop started glitching on its own and completely shut off. Then popped up with a error screen and some caution message. On the other hand, I spoke with a relative who is more tech savvy, they tried their (HP) device, and it seemed that the adapter was the ones not working not my HDMI… The adapter glitched out both devices… I’m very concerned about the after affects it has on my device. Highly suggest looking into another product.

1.0 out of 5 stars SD Reader SLOW - Can’t Recommend

I bought this to use as an SD and Micro SD card reader with pass through power. Maybe I received a dud, but the card readers in this unit transfer data INCREDIBLY slowly compared to my cheapo StarTech card reader.

An SD card that takes 12 min to copy to my computer with my other reader takes approx TWO HOURS with this reader.

I tested this with both and SD and micro SD cards, and both were unbearably slow on the Hiearcool reader.

I already threw out the box, or else I would definitely return this.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not functional

I have used to connect my monitor and it worked well, for couple of minutes!
Then the monitor started to turn off totally and coming back…
Thought it was just an error, tried different HDMI cable, different monitor even took it to office to compare with a similar adapter, the result was the same, not working properly! Since then every 5 minutes, it turns off/on always…
Not only HDMI, but also wireless mouse (with USB connector) and wired keyboard have the same issue!
After couple of minutes, have to disconnect my devices and then connect again. It’s so annoying to keep doing it always.

1.0 out of 5 stars Only 1/2 of my devices work with this

I bought this hub to turn my laptop into a desktop when working from my desk. While the product sounds great, only 2 of my 4 peripheral devices will work with it. I have a Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Mouse & Keyboard that lags when plugged into the hub making it unusable. I also have an external SSD drive made by Crucial that does not read when plugged into the hub. My Dell brand monitor and webcam both work fwiw. I am using a macbook pro (intel version).

I would avoid this product and find one with better compatibilities.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't Work

I was able to charge my iPad through the hub UNTIL I plugged in a thumb drive. Then it stopped charging the iPad. Even when I removed the thumb drive, the hub would not allow charging. Not useful as a hub.
